An amazing place to stay

Just had the pleasure of staying on the Harpy and it really is a first class experience. Great communications with Andrew before and during our stay. Jan met us on the boat as planned. It was immaculately clean and so warm and cosy. All four of us agreed it was one of the best experiences we have had in any hospitality environment. We will go back and I would encourage anybody to go and experience it first hand.

Wonderful Reunion

We were a mixed group of friends and family from across the UK, reuniting in London where we lived for many years. Wonderful to stay in a totally unique venue and in such a great location near Tower Bridge and on the river which is fascinating and surprisingly calming for central London. We felt completely at home and had everything we needed. Provided lots of very happy times in an incredible space. We were sad to leave but have fantastic memories and we will return. Thank you Andrew.

A luxury holiday in the middle of London

Organised and friendly host. Lovely housekeeper who introduced us to the house boat. The Harpy Houseboat is everything our family of 6 could ever want for a luxury holiday in the middle of London, next to the Tower Bridge. Luxury master bedroom with a huge en-suite bath that could float a boat. Another full bathroom with bath and a separate guest toilet. Another 3 good sized bedrooms. The beds and duvets are the most comfortable we have ever slept on. Upstairs is a large sitting room with a great large screen tv and full entertainment systems, WiFi, Netflix, Apple TV and sound system. The adjoining dining area seats 8 comfortably. The kitchen is magnificent. Fully equipped with every electrical device and a double oven. Four good cooks worked together to produce a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings for 7 on Christmas Day and had fun doing it ! The views of the Tower Bridge and London skyline are breathtaking, especially at night. The river traffic on the Thames provides a constant change of scenery from Super Yachts to tugs and barges. New Years Eve was great fun on the deck of the Harpy, rugged up, watching the shipping preparations and the bridge opening and closing. You get a glimpse of the main fireworks. But surprisingly, there are lots of private fireworks on the river and some big fireworks down river towards Canary Wharf. There plenty of transport options nearby. We particularly enjoyed hopping off the Tube at Tower Hill and walking across the Tower Bridge back to the warmth of The Harpy. As a family we hope to return to The Harpy Houseboat in the future!

A Magical Houseboat in a Great City

It is not often a holiday booking totally exceeds expectations but this description certainly applies to The Harpy. This houseboat was a perfect location for our celebration with spacious accommodation, very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen and a great communal area on the upper deck. The views of the river are amazing, we drank champagne on deck as we watched Tower Bridge open on Saturday evening, before enjoying a wonderful meal on board. The location is superb, there is much to explore locally and the tube stations are in easy walking distance. Between us we explored the Shad Thames Trail, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London and others travelled further afield. But our time on board was so special; none of us wanted to leave! For a magical experience in this great city nothing eclipses The Harpy.

Wonderful experience and highly recommend for anyone wanting an amazing experience. The view of the tower brigde to wake up to and sleep to was beautiful. The host, Andrew, was very attentive. We love all the amenities of the house and the details. They supplied converters and even left us some wine and bread. We love the little touches. We love there was Sonos and kitchen was fully stocked. Definitely worth the money. We believe it to be a great value for the price. Thank you Andrew for a wonderful experience in this lovely home.

Our best London accommodations to date!

We absolutely loved our 4 stay on The Harpy! We were a 3 generation party of 7 including a 2 year old and nearly 1 year old. This was our third trip to London in the last 4 years and this was, by far, the best accommodations to date. As our party was larger, we knew right away we wanted to find a place that would accommodate our family and most importantly, be comfortable for our children. Hotels were no longer going to fit our needs. As vacation rental property managers ourselves, we knew a rental was the way to go. Being able to cook our own meals on our slightly slow, “kid in tow”, routine was so relieving. No rushing down to the hotel restaurant to make it before breakfast ended or trying to figure out where to get a middle of the night snack. Also, having the ability to do laundry on site made my life so much easier (even though I ended up using it everyday with 2 small children). The location is perfect for visiting all of the “must see” London attractions. The gorgeous views of Tower Bridge are an added bonus. Andrew showed us all the ins and outs of the vessel and was happy to answer any questions we had. We were especially appreciative of being allowed to occupy two of the bedrooms a little early as our youngest had a bit of travel sickness and was not coping too well after our overnight flight. We had groceries delivered by Waitrose and everything was delivered correctly and on time and Andrew was there to meet them for us. We will definitely be booking again for our next visit! Thank you for a wonderful stay and for your hospitality!

The Harpy Houseboat of Happiness

The accommodations were spectacular and beyond our expectations. Andrew met us when we arrived, gave us the grand tour, walked us to a local lunch haunt, left us with a welcoming bottle of wine and fresh baked bread. The living area was perfect and allowed a lot of terrific family interaction and after our daily jaunts we had dinner every night at 'home" Honestly, we were not ready to leave and have discussed coming back again. The location was perfect and far quieter than I thought it might be, being so close to Tower Bridge. The beds were very comfortable and the entire house boat well appointed. We feel privileged being able to stay there.

Magic Holiday

Our family (group of 8 adults) stayed on The Harpy for 4 nights. It is the most wonderful place to stay in London - there can't be a better place! To us it felt like a dream and now we all miss the gentle rocking, the fantastic views, the .... just everything we experienced on The Harpy. One of our group did actually skip sightseeing for a day just to be able to stay on the houseboat. Julie and Andrew are wonderful and very attentive hosts who thought of everything one could need - and lots more.

I seriously doubt you could find a more unique place to stay in London, the most stunning view and feel so lucky to have stayed here, feels like a secret you want to keep as we were lucky to get the date we had, would love to stay again.
